Crowns & Bridges

What is a crown?

A crown is a protective cover placed over a tooth to make it stronger, restore its shape, and improve its appearance.

Benefits of a crown:

  • It protects the tooth

  • It helps restore the tooth’s shape and strength

  • It lets you chew more normally

  • It can improve how the tooth looks

We will recommend a crown when a tooth is:

  • badly broken or worn down

  • weakened by a large filling

  • cracked

  • treated with a root canal

  • badly stained or misshapen

What is a bridge?

A dental bridge is a fixed replacement for a missing tooth that fills the space and helps restore your smile and bite.

Benefits of a bridge:

  • restore your smile

  • make chewing easier

  • improve speaking

  • keep nearby teeth from shifting out of place

We will recommend a bridge when a tooth is:

  • Congenitally missing teeth; often recommended for teenagers and young adults who are still growing.

  • Insufficient bone support or bone loss that makes the area unable to properly support a dental implant.

Fillings

What is a filling?

A filling is a treatment used to repair a tooth that has a cavity, small crack, or minor damage. The damaged or decayed part of the tooth is removed and filled with composite resin to restore the tooth’s shape and function.

Benefits of a filling:

  • remove decay and prevent it from progressing

  • repair minor chips

  • treat enamel abfractions (small areas of tooth structure loss near the gumline)

  • reduce sensitivity or discomfort

  • strengthen the tooth

What is a laser filling?

A laser filling uses dental laser technology to remove decay and prepare the tooth for a filling, often without the need for numbing, depending on the location and depth of the cavity

Benefits of a laser filling:

  • remove decay in a more precise way

  • make treatment more comfortable

  • reduce the need for drilling and numbing in certain cases

  • preserve more healthy tooth structure

Implant Restoration

What is implant restoration?

Implant restoration is the final step of the implant treatment process, where the visible replacement tooth is attached to the dental implant.

While we do not place dental implants in our office, we refer patients to an oral surgeon and once healing is complete, we place the final abutment and crown to restore the tooth.

Benefits of implants:

  • replace a missing tooth or teeth

  • restore your smile

  • improve chewing and overall function

  • provide a natural look and feel
