Invisalign® FAQ'S
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Invisalign and how does it work?
Invisalign uses clear, removable aligners to gradually straighten your teeth. Each set is worn for 1–2 weeks and gently shifts teeth into place.
Am I a good candidate for Invisalign?
Most teens and adults with mild to moderate alignment issues are good candidates. A consultation is needed to confirm.
How often do I need to come in office during treatment?
Typically every 6–8 weeks for quick progress checks and new aligners.
What is the difference between Invisalign and traditional braces?
Invisalign is clear and removable, while braces are fixed and more noticeable.
Can I eat and drink with Invisalign trays in?
Remove trays for all food and drinks except water.
Can Invisalign fix severe alignment issues?
Invisalign can treat many cases, but severe issues may require traditional braces.
What happens if I lose or break my aligner?
Contact our office right away. We’ll guide you on whether to move to the next set or replace the aligner.
What happens if I don’t wear my aligners enough?
Your treatment may be delayed, and teeth may shift back. Consistent wear (20–22 hours/day) is essential.
Does insurance cover Invisalign treatment?
Many dental insurance plans cover Invisalign similarly to braces. Coverage varies by plan.
Do I need to wear a retainer after Invisalign?
Yes. Wearing a retainer helps keep your teeth in their new position after treatment.
