Meet Dr. Benjamin J. Taylor, DMD
Coming to North Atlanta Aesthetic Dentistry in April 2018
Dr. Ben Taylor offers a full range of general and family dentistry services, from routine cleanings and fillings to extractions, dental implants, and dentures. His goal for each and every patient is to provide a positive experience while helping them achieve and maintain a healthy, beautiful smile. Dr. Taylor’s patients appreciate his careful approach and personable nature that immediately puts them at ease.
“My father and grandfather were both dentists, so from a young age, I saw the difference a great dentist could make in a patient’s quality of life—there’s nothing like seeing someone love their smile for perhaps the first time in years. I also learned the importance of treating patients with the utmost respect and a gentle hand. Visiting the dentist can be a source of anxiety for many people, but a caring, honest approach can help a patient feel at ease and view dental care in a positive light. As a result, these patients are more likely to enjoy a healthier smile throughout life.”
Education and training
A native of McDonough, Georgia, Dr. Taylor graduated Summa Cum Laude from Mercer University, earning his bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in chemistry. He was then awarded a full scholarship through the United States Army to attend the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry, Doctor Of Medicine in Dentistry program—a 4-year medical training program that prepared and qualified him to practice.
Dr. Taylor then completed an additional one year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry through the United States Army Dental Corps at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, Washington, where he furthered his training in oral surgery, prosthodontics, and other aspects of restorative dentistry.
Serving patients while serving our nation
Dr. Taylor joins Dr. Gurley and North Atlanta Aesthetic Dentistry having served 4 years on active duty with the rank of Army Captain as a general dentist at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital in Virginia. During his tenure at Fort Belvoir, he had the honor of treating many other active duty members as well as veteran soldiers through the Wounded Warrior project.
Dr. Taylor’s philosophy: the patient’s needs always come first
Drawing from his experience with the U.S. Army and his years of advanced dental training, Dr. Taylor has developed and refined his practice to deliver ethical, medically sound care with a dual focus on improving a patient’s dental health and helping them enjoy a beautiful smile they feel confident displaying to the world.
A passion for dentistry that runs in the family
A love of dentistry came early and easily for Dr. Taylor, who is the third generation in his family to become a dentist. While growing up, he and his three sisters frequently visited his grandfather’s dental practice in nearby Jonesboro. It was there that he learned what a positive difference a great dentist could make in a patient’s life, and he pursued his education from there.
Dr. Taylor outside of the office
Dr. Taylor met his wife Kelly, who is a physical therapist, while he was still in dental school—and they recently celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary! Both Dr. Taylor and Kelly enjoy an active lifestyle outside of work and spend their free time traveling, hiking and spending quality time with their French bulldog and cat.
